Enjoy NEC was there on Sunday but went in the car.

Not so much with, but ordered some new tyres for the Glee today. Pair of PR4's @ £159 delivered from Oponeo. Just need to figure out how to fit them  :fix:

Still plenty of tread on the Anakee IIIs but the bike feels like it wants to fall over on bends now.

First day in ages it hasn't been pissing it down, blowing a gale and bloody cold... perfect timing for a trip to Southampton to visit Adam from All Year Biker who did a fantastic job making the bike look as good as new. Given how rarely I've cleaned her (er, lets see... never  :icon_no: ) I knew it was going to be good, but I hadn't expected how well the plastics like the clocks surround would be improved. Even my topbox was transformed from a dull grey to a nice shiny black  :)

A word of warning though... he lives just around the corner from an Infinity Motorcycles, so there is a danger of wandering in for a browse and accidentally dropping a credit card on the counter

Rode home in a shiny new Shoei GT Air   via a greasy burger on the hill above Portsmouth and loop around Hayling Island.

Changed the oil yesterday and took it on a run out for 100 miles today. Sunny when we set off, rained when we got close to Buxton, turned east and managed to ride out of it. Bloody cold when we got home though!!
Enjoyed it as it was the first time I've had the bike out since we got back from Spain middle October!!!!

I fitted  Arrow collecter pipes and removed the gubbins to the exhaust flap valve, an easy job, ready for a dyno tune in the morning.

Even without a tune I can feel a difference in how the bike runs, and will be interested in the results.

I've been thinking of trading in for a Tracer or Tiger, but this evening after a frustrating afternoon at work I went for a blast to de-stress. And realised again what a great bike the Glee is! Such fun!

Bike been rattling/clunking on speed humps, terribly annoying. Found out that after a recent service the front fairing had been re-assembled incorrectly.

The little fingers that extend from the side of the radiator into the inner part of the front side cowlings had lost their rubber caps & weren't in their little slot. One of those where once you realise what it is, it only takes 5 minutes and a bit of electrical tape, but I'd got half the front apart already.

Had a go on a Super Ten at the bike show the other day also, think I'm going to take the plunge in the new year.

Attached and wired in a couple of little running lights. Nice wee project and I'll be out tomorrow early (on my commute) to see if they make a difference.

Thanks! These are them: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00LOJTBLA/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They make very little difference to what I can see, but they do make me more visible — I noticed a marked difference in how I was treated on the road this morning, with the caveat that I might be imagining it to justify the expense. :-)

Not happy with the well nuts used to fix screen.
I was fitting a madstad bracket so I took the opportunity to make up a new bracket. Second bolt on each bracket is to hold plate in place behind cowling.
The whole thing feels much more secure.
Will also use stainless bolts reattaching screen to madstad bracket.
On an aside I had the givi screen on my 09 650 before I sold it. I then went 3 months before fitting it after buying the 13 650.
The difference is huge. It changes the whole dynamic of the bike.

Just fitted a couple of Micro Flooter fog lights, mounted the switch on the fairing, used up my last fuse panel slot.

A slow, mostly B Road, run down to Henley-on-Thames (just for a coffee) and back via Wycombe, Oxford, Brize Norton, Carterton, Lechlade and Cirencester (for another coffee).

Very windy at times and with low lying sun making it a bit squinty at times.

Took almost all of the daylight hours and covered 170 miles.

I always enjoy a run out on a winters day when it's close to 10 degrees and the gritters haven't been seen for a while. Hopefully I will get another one in this year.

Took the bike into lots of pieces trying to work out why my low-beam headlights are working. The parking lights work, as do the high-beam, but the main headlights suddenly stopped working the other day.

I checked the bulbs and fuse, but then started to take more bits apart, including the starter switch, before trying to get access to the connectors beneath the airbox. After over 2 hours of tinkering I decided to put it back together with the lights still not working.

I have done something wrong though as I ended up with two bolts missing and two of the plastic fairing connectors left over - I must have put bolts where there should be the connectors! At 2330 last night I wasn't going to take it apart again to find out where!

It's off to the garage tomorrow for someone who knows what they are doing to have a look at as I don't have the time to continue tinkering :-(

Your headlight problem is likely to be one of the large connectors to the left of the Rad, too late now but the wires generally get hot if the connector is corroded.

See about halfway down here http://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=23532.0

Thanks Fat Rat - I had seen a lot of posts on the forum discussing the corroded connectors so knew to look for them but it took me most of my night to work out how to get to them. After getting the tank off it took me an age to get the air box off as I couldn't get to the screw to loosen the connection to the bottom pipe. In the end I had to take the entirety of the front fairing off and even then I could only just get access.

On the plus side I did learn a lot about my bike as I took it apart and then put it back together.

Put pic of the fasteners up and someone might point you in the right direction.
Life is short - You have to enjoy it on a Wee-Strom!
