Yes my gloves are not as warm and I think it's because the linings have compressed in time and no longer provide such an efficient thermal barrier.  ( AND)  I am not getting older since I "did the deal" at the crossroads.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can. Nothing travels faster than the speed of time.

“ Am still not convinced about the bike's voltmeter so might swap it to the spare if I get chance this weekend to see if it's that causing the issue as it seems to jump around randomly even without load then settles at 14.1v for a bit before dropping down.”

Just a point about heated grips,if they are made by Oxford, they WILL make your voltmeter seem erratic, as they are switched on and off for various lengths of time according to the heat level you have selected…..I.e. low settings they are on for shorter lengths of time compared with higher settings when they are switched on for longer periods. This is how Oxford regulate the heat as they don’t have a thermostat of any sort.

Weston-super-Mare, Banwell, Churchill, Burrington Coombe, Cheddar, Rookesbridge, Burnham-on-Sea, two junctions south on the M5 to open her up. Back to Weston via Bridgwater, Highbridge and Brent Knoll.

The road down Cheddar Gorge is in a shocking state of disrepair.

I got home mid afternoon to wash a very dirty bike. Cold, but not unpleasant.

I think that’ll be it until the New Year now.👍

Keeping it nice and local Phil... good ride.

Burrington Combe and Cheddar Gorge are always a lot more fun when there's no holiday traffic about.

The older I get, the better I was.

The CBR 600 RR is being delivered next week ,so as I don't like to leave a bike for more than a fortnight without using it  if I can help it and next weekend will be CBR time I took the 650 out for a splash round for an hour or so on the more sheltered back roads.
But first I had to knock up my neighbour to let him know his global closing had gone wrong ( again ) on his Ford leaving all 4 windows open. Not the best day for it to happen.
Lots of water about ( but no salt  )  that's OK ,the Strom deals with all that with ease.

The local Reas were looking a little bedraggled. Two got out last summer and spent a couple of months being chased around the fields till they got caught. They came onto a local estate at night, scaring the crap out of people

The global closing on my Focus confused the hell out of me one Sunday when I found all my windows down.  The key was in my pocket when I parked up on Saturday so the unlock button probably get pressed/held when I bent down to undo my laces just inside the front door... Thankfully it did not rain in the night and no wandering scrote took interest.  Always double check now.

My neighbour is going to have a wet arse on the way to work tomorrow. He got the windows up and was still trying to dry it off when I got back from my ride. :icon_wink:

Took the wheels off as running them into my local Honda  dealer tomorrow for a new pair of Michelin Anakee Adventures. I wasn’t going to change them yet, as not likely to ride till March, but was browsing the show room on my lunch break as usual and thought I would get a quote. I think they are desperate for any work, as quoted me £210 for the pair, fitted! Bargain, not going to miss a saving even if not the best month for unnecessary spending.

So many bikes there, the dealership was heaving with new and second hand machines. I’m very happy with my Strom so not looking to change, but I do like to see how bike prices are fairing as you hear so much negativity in the media. Can’t say bikes looked any cheaper, but variety and quantity on offer was impressive. If I was looking, I think you could have fun… as long as you don’t have a bike to trade in.

"Unnecessary spending"?
Stuff for bikes never, ever falls into that category.

No I completely agree… but my wife doesn’t this time of the year. Especially as my four kids are getting more and more expensive tastes as they get older, gone are the days a few toys and some chocolate coins hit the mark.

Shiny… must be Christmas! I also treated the bike to another early present, a set of model specific tank grips. When I find an quiet hour over Christmas, I can fit them and use as an excuse to hide in the garage
