Kind of, you’re supposed to hide it so it’s a challenge to find. You have the rough location, but it’s supposed to be discrete hence fun to find. I’ve done it with my kids and one geocache was a toy dinosaur hiding under a tree root, with the paper roll in its mouth. Kids loved it, all depends how well it’s done for it to be fun.

NigelS, can I please ask where that twisty piece of road is, in your post about the geocache at Boxted? Thanks.

mrp192,
I wish I could give you a definitive answer, but the stop at Boxted was after a wander just following the twisty road and my nose , no real idea where I was
I am in serious awe of people who are organised enough to go round the world.......I would take a week or two to just get out of France :icon_wink:

But using my limited "finding shit out on google/android phone abilities " .........There are TWO Boxteds about 30 miles apart, I was at the Bury St Edmunds ( north most one, Suffolk  , NOT the Colchester one ) and  the pics were an hour and twenty mins apart ( but I did spend some time on the bridge  finding the cache and nattering to some old boy with his dog about albino Partridges...as you do ) so twenty mins out of boxted  puts it on  B1066  ........Probably...... Sorry

If I end up there again  (serendipity allowing ) I will make a note and confirm it  :thumb:

Nigel s, no worries, I just recognised it but can’t place it in my memory map. Gives me a good reason to head down that way and find it.  :)

My two weeks on the local for sale website finished yesterday, 165 views but no calls. So I went an 180 miles ride today to celebrate!
Parked beside a new Voge 900 at Newcastle, that thing has everything on it. Looked well finished to, as good or better than any Suzuki.

I rode down to Horsham for a wedding this weekend - 223 miles down with an indicated 80mpg, and 262 miles back with an indicated 78mpg. On the return journey the bike went over 65,000 miles, and managed to get to 259 miles before the fuel light started flashing near home. I was surprised to get back on one tank of petrol, but I guess all the 50mph zones on the M1 helped with that.
Bike performed flawlessly, and the £15 old Garmin Drive satnav I bought to replace the dead TomTom was fine apart from one estate near Horsham which wasn't on the map. Still the map is about a decade newer than the TomTom's.

Took it for MOT, passed but the cheeky bugger gave me an advisory. Said the chain could do with adjusting, I bit my tongue and let it go even though he checked it on the centre stand whereas I always check it on its wheels with someone sat on it.

I’m 8 miles outside of Whitby. North Yorkshire gave me my first dry miles since leaving Somerset on Saturday, travelling via Lincolnshire.

Thank you North Yorkshire.👍

Just had a good week away last week staying in the lakes and travelling up to Northumberland ,did just over 900miles and the bike was faultless even on the way there and back with us both on and around 5st of luggage.

We were very lucky with the weather only an odd damp road until around 15miles from home when it mooned it down. The change that I made to raise the gearing mad the long runs better with very little vibes.

Our usual wanderings ending up to Kielder forest area, did go down one road and ended up on MOD ground ,had a nice chat with a Sargent on guard who informed us that we should not be here so turned around to another road and visited the Roman army museum with nice cafe and more importantly a loo for the wife.
I tend to just ride on the compass setting of the Sat Nav an look out for green areas when wandering.
We was going to go up to Bamburgh but the weather was turning a bit over there so headed back to our holiday let in Windermere.

Went for a run down to Biggar taking a couple of the smaller roads just to get off the A702 as it was busy. At Biggar I cut across to Broughton, onto Talla Reservoir then Selkirk, Kelso and back to Edinburgh. The traffic was OK for most of the run and I knew there would be showers but by luck managed to miss all although I did find a few miles of damp road and of course muck here and there. Turned out to be a very nice run of 146 miles which took me 4 hours. Getting colder now, temp droped as low as 11c and I did start to feel the cold towards the end.
Tomorrow I will be washing the bike.

@nigel s Coming back from Browns cafe at Mundford I missed the 1066 for Diss at Thetford and took the 1088 and then at the A143 crossed the roundabout to  Walsham road, becomes Ixworth road through Walsham le willows - Finningham road to the B1113 Left at Finningham to Wickham road - Workhose road to the A140 at Stoke Ash. Something of a detour but knocks few miles off the A140 and the 50mph trudge to the A14 and home. I must do that again.

Last check of the bike before a trip starting tomorrow.
Lube the chain, put it in gear, start her up and spin the back wheel to get some of the excess off. All good.
Thought I’ll just run it up the road to check the brakes, all good, got back and put it in gear again to finish spreading the lube.
Oh! Why is my EMU light showing?
Turn er off, turn er back on, still showing. Bugger.
Suspected ABS/TC issue due to both wheels not turning and did a dealer access check. C16! Bugger.
Rode it up and down the street, stopped and started, off it goes. Pffffffftttttt.
Phew.
Now stop touching it and walk away.
I suspect it showed a fault the second time because the ABS/TC had set on the first ride and I didn't turn it off before spinning it up again.

Have a good safe trip upt North.
Why is an ECU feminine? because they never bloody well forget and are always ready to show you the error of your ways.

Brockett,
Avoiding the A140 is high on my list too, some nice roads around Ixworth :thumb:

Just picked up the 650 from its 30,000 mile service, all good, all 4 exhaust valves were just out of spec and were adjusted. Had a NC750 as a courtesy bike...DO like them....but was glad to have my strom back :icon_wink:

Rode over to Liverpool and back for work. Was cold and wet. Heated grips and winter gloves were needed, and although I wore the heated jacket, I foolishly forgot to plug it in this morning. In my defence I wasn't expecting November weather.

As I got into Liverpool, I pulled up at a set of lights next to a police car - our lanes were due to merge on the other side of the junction so I had the dilemma of whether to go in front or behind the police car. Anyway, I'm watching the traffic crossing from the right, our lights go green, the traffic is still crossing, the police car takes off (no blue lights) anchors on and blasts it's horn at the double decker bus that's still crossing the junction, then puts the blue lights on and chases after the bus...
Solved my problem of going in front or not, but I was surprised the police driver didn't check the junction was clear before trying to cross.
(And yes, I reckon the white van proceeding the bus and the bus probably ran a red light)
