Tried one of these paired to a Sena.
I actually liked it, but I'm a luddite! Not permanently wired yet, the tank was full.

I went for a blast round Ullswater yesterday, but like you Nigel, too many tourists driving on the wrong side of the road, gazing at anything but the road. After half an hour of narrowly avoiding collisions, I decided to go home before I got hit. I will head out tonight, now all the tourists have gone home and enjoy the roads properly and safely.  :)

Saturday I did two country’s and nine counties to get home from Lincolnshire.

England and Wales.

Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire, Gwent, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset.

Only traffic I hit was Stow-in-the-Wold.

The bike is now ready for its 600 mile service on Wednesday.  :thumb:

Passed its MOT today, just short of 5k since the last MOT so happy that my mileage is increasing but still need to ride more. No advisories which means a flawless MOT history, not bad for its 15th MOT!  :lala:

Fitted another set of Grip Puppies as I slightly over shortened the last set and it turns out I can't live with it.
Top tip, use GT85 to fit them. They slide right on and, for reasons probably known to someone who paid more attention than me in chemistry class, they stick like glue once the solvent evaporates. Always used this for MTB grips and seems to work on the puppies as well.
Now time a full clean and detail before Rugby Bike Fest on Sunday.

Also changed grip puppies to a new set as the old ones were already worn. Used water with fairy. With a bit of persuasion they went on 🙂

Yesterday had a ride for the first time in a few weeks. Very pleasant few hours with food & cake involved of course.  :icon_wink:
Got home & Deb noticed that one of my new (cheap) spot lights wasn't working. Only fitted them a couple of weeks ago too!  :violence-smack:
Today, into the garage for a quick check with the meter proved the fault into the spots, so onto E-Bay seller to ask for a replacement or refund.
Then back into the garage to refit the old ones I'd taken off that have been on the bike for eight years!!!!
Why did I change them? The new ones were smaller & neater plus LED, the old ones are Halogen & power greedy.
Tomorrow the bike will be back out & checked over ready for a few days in Devon next week.    :thumb:

Warmer yesterday so took the screen off for a 100ish mile b road jaunt.Liked it a lot.Going to do a longer run today with some main roads, if it's good the screen may stay off till november.

Well just got back from 4hrs on the bike in windy conditions so a good test.Going out cruising at 76 on the dual carriageway was no problem I just shuffled back on seat and leaned in till I found the balance point. On the b road section much prefered it, turn in was sharper.
However coming back into a blustery side/head wind was tiring.
Undecided at mo.
May go down the madsad bracket with a small fly screen bolted to it route, having used this with sucess before.
My problem is noise, my left ear is w@nkered and tinitus is in the mix too so quiet is my aim.Screenless stops the imp with a hammer banging on my lid but motorways would be hard work.
If anyone has a set of madstad brackets for a 2017 on 650 I'll have them. Don't need a screen I've got a shed load already.

Had a great blast up Honister Pass, dropping down to lake Buttermere. It was lovely and quiet… then I hit traffic so nipped round Keswick and decided to ride the ‘Old Coach Road’ instead, at least that was empty! I know the V-Strom isn’t an off road bike, but it handles itself very well as long as you don’t rush too much. The bike is proper dirty now, so I may as well head back and ride it the other way tomorrow.

Went for a quick blast to try out screen mod.I've put the previously rejected givi airflow back on but with the nylon spacers I had on KTM screen so the angle is a lot lower. It could have legs,it's louder wind wise than screenless but imp with hammer is less if that makes sense .Today I'm cutting up a sofa for my sister that won't go down the stairs( don't ask) so full test will have to wait.

How did the sofa get up the stai.... Sorry, I won't ask.

Went for a run around trying to get lost again. Went on some roads I've never been on before but always knew where I was, so failed a bit.

I've almost tripled my 2022 Mileage in 2023, but it's still a weeks worth for some of you commuters.
