Is there a discount code for Cymarc?

One thing I have noticed from longer rides is aching/cramp in my hips and upper legs. Something I'm considering is lowering the foot pegs (as I've already lowered the seat, so the angle of hips/knees is going to be decreased anyway).

Just pricing up the options!

purplebikeunicorn,I have problems with my right knee and upper back and have fitted fwd footpegs on the crash bars.Every now and then BEFORE the aches set in I'll pop one leg at a time onto the peg.Prevention seems to work, mostly.I also try to remember to do arse crunches all ride to help with numb bum .For me keeping moving is key,2 hours shuffling around on the bike at b road speed is more comfy than 2 hours sat still on a motorway.

I fitted the Cymarc.
Seems good strong kit. The paper clip brake actuator extender was thankfully not required. Would it hurt them just to put a longer spring in the kit?

Up T North - It was a split between Cosmo and Cymarc, both similar price (with Cosmo discount) but obviously Cymarc is in the UK. Also noticed there are copies on eBay but made with aluminium, for almost 50-75% of the cost of the real deal...

I'm not adverse to buying knockoffs, some are OK some are shit.Buying on fleabay always check return address, even if it says part is in uk,returning to china means it ain't going to be returned.

For the extra and on my experience alone I'd go for Cymarc. I rang them to check compatability and a few details and the chap I spoke to was on his game.
I think someone posted they had bent a set but in general I only hear good things about the company. Your feet will go 5mm forward too but I doubt you'll notice it.
I think I used threadlock too, just in case you need to get some in.

I've just got back from a long way round trip to colchester and for the first time this year didn't use my heated jacket ,wahey.
Not summer yet though still had heated grips on.
But I can almost smell it !

Got a flow on today.
Managed to link 2 of my favourite b road routes together.
Brapp turn brapp turn brapp turn.
Just enough red circles to give a rest not enough to piss you off.
The mobile chicanes were even mostly in the right place.

Are you a real 'old boy' of Norfolk nigel s? I grew up in West Norfolk and still have family in Norwich and Horstead.

Familiar countryside for me.  :thumb:
So how's it going so far then?

Though I did become an outcast to my family when 30 years ago I moved to just outside Ipswich for a while.
Now I'm back most of them will talk to me.
O the shame!

Well not quite today but over the previous weekend I put my 2008 wee back together.

The back story is that a month ago while out for a ride I had a charging system failure that left me stranded with a flat battery very much in the middle of nowhere. And believe me in Aus there is a lot of nowhere!

Eventually got the bike home with a bit of faffing about and diagnosed a failed stator. The rec/reg checked out OK as did the wiring so I sent the stator off for a rewind.

Now an OEM  new stator is in the region of 850 AUD (‘Strayan dollars) and there isn’t one in the country! So a rewind was all I could realistically achieve.

Got the rewound stator back Thursday night, installed it on Friday, and test rode it on Saturday in the pouring rain. Now if Anything is going to prompt a failure it’s a test ride in the rain, but 40 Km later and everything is both tickety and boo.

One thing I did notice is that when I believe the charging system started to fail the ABS light was flickering, then came on hard. I managed a further 40 clicks or so and the battery was pretty much as flat as week old beer.

So, the question I have is; has anyone else noticed if the ABS light comes on when the bike is running but not charging? If it does then it kind of acts like a charge warning light.
In the words of Rob Hunter of the Grateful Dead:
"what a long strange trip it's been"

Not had this with mine but would imagine the abs not having the amps to function right would pick up on that and flash the warning light. My car did this and a week later the battery died.My bike has a built in volt meter, I must admit to regular checks, might be worth getting an aftermarket jobbie installed.I had a GSX400f and that blew the reg,but overcharged the battery, symptoms included blowing the single headlight bulb, not fun at speed in the dark!!

I think that one of the best mods on any of the 1st gen V-Stroms, is to install a voltmeter, to monitor the charging system.
The K4 - K6 Wee appears to have a lot less complaints of stator related issuses on record, compared to that of the K7 - L1 Wee.  And as most owners of the 1st gen Vee know, has a well documented complaint of stator magnet migration, thrown in with a few reports of stator issues.

Yeah I have learnt from past mistakes to always find the reason for an electrical fault.I have recharged a flat battery, just putting it down to a tired battery, used the bike and ended up having to replace stator reg and battery when more prompt action would have meant just replacing the reg.Expensive lesson.
Here in uk I have used West Country Windings and always had a good experience. Not so with Electrex.
