Oddly not for once... Whether they'll stay there when I get a good run out
I did have that 'is the screen going to stay there or fly off' feeling, but it stayed put at 60mph

Talking about mysterious voids,When I was fitting my hugger the other week the supplied p clip looked a little tight on the abs cable so I had a rummage in the bolt bowl,we've all got one,and found 3 m6 stainless washers to space out the jaws of the clip. When fitting one of the washers pinged, off I heard it hit alloy but 10 mins later no, gone? looked everywhere.Inside wheel hub no on floor no,figured it must have got jammed in rear caliper or mount ,so wheel off no not there. wheel on give up.
Closing the garage door I look down and there the little f@cker is ,a good 10 feet away from where it started
bastard.

Buy triangular washers, they  don't roll.

Ah, yes, I remember those days. You think you've checked every pocket, but as soon as the machine's full of water so you can't open the door- clink, clink against the drum and the glass.  lol

60 miles of lanes around the Fairford area, then home for a half-arsed rub a sponge around it style clean.

Lube the chain and put it away.

Just a bit of prep for a longer ride on Friday

Also, I've beaten my 2022 mileage already :shy:

Just preparing for the bike camping next weekend, don’t like to leave it to the night before. I found my tent which I haven’t seen for three years since I last moved, luckily I packed it away dry so it’s nice and clean with no mold… unfortunately four little monkeys thought it was for them!

Packed the tent, inflatable mattress, sleeping bag, pillow and towel in my dry bag and strapped it on the bike to check it all fits. Can’t believe it all packed down so well, will have room in the panniers for my camera gear now to hopefully get some action shots and videos of the group on Saturday.  :thumb:

I am hoping to go out tomorrow with the wife on the back for the first time in 7 months.
We need to get some two up miles in before we take out the new 1050 demo so that I can make a proper assessment whether to change the 650.
I changed from the 1000 due to knee issues and the weight but feel a bit better now. I got the 650 as a stop gap and for last years holiday.

I have done quite a few mods to the 650 4 pot brakes, radial master cylinder, YSS fork kit , end can, fat bars ,risers and custom seat, which for me has improved the bike so I feel that it might be a head over heart decision when we get a demo ride.

All set for a trip out tomorrow, tyre pressures have actually maintained over the past 4 weeks, didn't even need to put any in!

I'm also considering taking the other half to a car park to practice with a pillion. Never had one before, and thought it best that I give it a go on a flat piece of road first!

Make sure you are insured for a pillion. It's an option on my insurance.

Dropped the exhaust, changed gaskets, put back and reseal with exhaust cement :)

@purplebikeunicorn, that's a very sensible option, especially if your pillion is new ro that role. Just tell them to sit still and relax, not try to help you lean/steer the bike.
MartinW makes a good point about checking your insurance.

I'm not currently insured for one, but the car park I have in mind is private, and behind a locked gate out of hours (with permission of the land owner), so don't need insurance for that bit. Will meet the other half there.

Thanks for the tips crump, I'm sure it'll be fine. I just don't know if there will be room for luggage in the max carrying capacity of the bike with both of us on it though!  :icon_wink:

We tour no problem 2 up, full panniers, top box and 20 ltr tank bag. Bike handles fine and goes well enough. Me and my missus probably total about 25 stone.

Totally agree, I see so many people taking the kitchen sink. It’s worth taking a snack or two and some water, but there will be a supermarket or restaurant near your destination, so just shop closer. Light weight is always more fun and cheaper on fuel  :)

Went for my longest ride in 3 years or so. Makes we wonder why I've never found enough time in the last few years. :bawl:
