pichulec, I think I'd have covered the shiny new axle stand before spraying the pump cover though.......  :shy:

Good thorough job.   :thumb:   :)
So how's it going so far then?

Joe Rocket, axle stand is to be used and does not have to be shiny :D
Job finished, lacquer is on 😁 Better than factory :P

And all of that for cost of £17 + paints. It is from SV1000 but it is the same engine so it will fit.
New cover £105 + back order, so I would not be able to go to Spain.
Saturday, new oil + coolant + water pump cover (with the new oring), assembly and test.
I also changed the clutch plates and metal plates too (hopefully I have assembled correctly, used schematics from Fowlers).

Gave her a spruce up before a ride this weekend.
I've never ridden in winter but had a rush job MOT about 5 weeks ago for a mate who wanted to visit for a ride.
He bailed last minute but I did the MOT anyway and there was obviously still salt on the roads which I didn't bargain for.
Cue and hour, and most of a can of HCB1, to free up the chain which had seized hard in a few places despite running a Scottoiler.

* I shall definitely let the MOT expire next year and delay the due date out of Feb/Mar, winter is for cars....and skis.

Took the wife out stork spotting to bed in the new rear brake disc and pads. Always puts a smile on my face to see them pairing up at the end of a long flight. The male usually arrives first followed by the female, usually days later. :lala:

Cheers,

Dicky.

I guess the male has to do a little DIY before she decides to stay with him and with the nest made tidy, they can get strait down to business.  :icon_wink:

Good picture.  :thumb:

Looks great, love seeing these bikes being kept well. The paint looks like a good colour match… will look like a new bike  :thumb:

Quick ride out to the coast this morning after changing the end can and fitting the sump guard and rad guard, to get a few miles on the new bike before the first service, the bike is superb bit down on power than my R1250GS but more characterful being a Vtwin I truly do not think the BMW is worth £10K more !!

Oh Pichulec, what have you started.
I see a life of spray painting in front of you.
Well done though, it looks a treat.

Popped out for Sunday Lunch, 90 miles away in Bentham.
Nice day out and some proper sunshine over Widdop on the way home.
That's got the new boots scrubbed in and you know it was a decent ride when your mpg has dropped into the 30s.

Swapped out the power lead from my old Zumo 340 for the one for my new Zumo XT. The 1050 plastic tank covers are easier to remove and refit than the Glee’s and so glad I decided to opt for the power feed behind the rad last time, so the tank didn’t need to come off again.

Finally got around to fitting some accessories to the newish Vstrom.  :fix:
Engine Cowl
Engine Bars
Hand Guards
Rear Rack Mount
Quick Remove Pannier Rack

Also Suzuki have moved a few thing's around on the 2022 650's, even less space under the seat now.  :icon_no:

You're not kidding Paul. I love that huge tool kit they've squeezed in.
Is it that there's more electric bits and bobs or they've just decided to spread them out?

Rusty Nuts, that cannister has been there in all 2017> bikes.
But the bigger tool kit used to sit behind the battery.
