Went mountain biking on it. First run out for the 2x2 Cycle rack mod. Handling wasn't too bad - no worse than the last time I gave my brother a lift on the back. Ride took in a good run on the A1 at 70mph.
Photo taken at Sherwood Pines after a 18 mile MTB ride around the red and blue trails.
Next time, it'll be nice if the rain stays away.

I have been eyeing up the SW-Motech wide foot pegs as I do like to stand up a lot (green lanes not on the M6). I just couldn’t bring myself to spend £100 as I may not get on with wide foot pegs, so I thought I would give these cheap (£12) aluminium add-ons a go. They simply replace the rubber, so I can give them a go and if I don’t like them then they are easy to change back.

Oh and my tool tube  :)

Only half a baguette though.  :haha:

Do you have a link for the footpeg rubber replacements?

Good stuff!  :thumb:
So how's it going so far then?

These are the ones I bought, although they seem to have gone up since I bought them last year. I’ve only just got round to installing them, but you may find cheaper ones on eBay  :)

My 650 ström also got treated to a thorough clean today. Must say it looked a lot better for it. Even cleaned the chain before re-oiling it. Looks too good to take out unless the weather's perfect now!

I know how you feel. I finally rolled my bike out of hibernation, been awful weather and I've been so busy at work this is the first time the bike has left the garage this year... opps. It won't stay this clean for long

Took it for the MOT - pass with no advisories  :text-woo:

I also got the mechanic to change the brake fluid as I like to change it regularly. Usually I do it myself, but she said it'd be £30 for fluid and half an hour's labour to do both brakes. Aside from saving me crawling around on the garage floor, in half an hour I'd probably be just about ready to start the first brake  lol

Finally went for a ride, not far as I wanted to test my new brakes were all OK before I strayed too far from home. Early days but I must say these EBC discs and pads are such an improvement! They are either much better or I had just become to accustomed to my old discs and pads. I can lock the rear wheel now as well without much effort, which makes sliding around on gravel a lot more fun  :)

Just given my 650 an oil and filter change and waiting for the weather to pick up so the wife will come back out on it.
She has not been on it since I have done the brake mod and YSS fork kit. We need to put some miles on it before we look at trying out the new 1050 when the demo arrives.
This is going to be a head or heart issue as the changes that I have made to the 650 have improved it for me.

Replacement water pump cover overhaul :)  Had to buy one as when I was removing the old one I had to destroy it (seized bolts - snapped heads)

Today primer. Tomorrow Chrysler Silverstone Pearl Xs5 paint. Then next day lacquer :)

How it was looking when I have purchased it also attached.

Nice to see I'm not the only one repurposing axle stands for other purposes!

Toyed with getting a tool tube, but I feel I would want to lock mine. Aliexpress has some with integrated shackles, but that might have to wait... I don't need any more custom bits just yet!

Fitted tank lock ring for Givi tank bag (308). Looking good.
