Rixington, you need to mentor us all through the long dark winter on garage tidying techniques.
It looks like the builders left yesterday and you wheeled your bike in.

Bought the house for the garage, anything else was a bonus, on to the exhaust refit today.
The crank shaft inspection cap and rear linkage bolts wouldn't even budge with a 480nm rattle gun, jobs for another year whilst I have a workaround.

My Niece bought a house with a garage like that. She converted it into a kitchen extension. What's that all about? Stupid woman, and her husband let her do it!

Years ago one of the bike journos walked into an estate agent and announced "I want to buy a garage with some sort of dwelling attached."

Went on the Remembrance Sunday rideout from Squires with my brother on his Versys. Excellent turn out this year.
Unlike Tonkie's ride, it was very foggy today with visibility falling to less than 100ft in some places all day
After the ride, had a run across to Seaways cafe (we won't mention the 30min circle I took us on back to where we set off from as phone dropped connection to my helmet so no satnav), then from Seaways to Helmsley.
Good day out despite the weather.

That is a very bold colour! It’s quite high-vis and I wonder how it looks in natural sun light, but it looks to be an excellent job! Congratulations 🥳

Completed my Strom's 19th Service and 16th MOT.

Do I feel the need for something else yet? ......... No.

Rebuilt the brake calipers this evening, another job I've not braved before but I've done plenty of mountain bikes so figured it would just be bigger.
TRK kit from Wemoto seemed good and everything is free as a bird now with a lovely short throw and firm feel at the lever. I'll see if they work better once I get the rest of her back together.

Installed Givi E160 Brake light for my Givi MAXIA 4 for extra visibility 🙂 A lot of tinkering with the wires but managed. Access to brake light wires is horrible in VSTROMS... 🤣

Rixington43 you reminded me to get off my arse, off the sofa and actually do my brakes. So I stripped the front down, will replace the seals… so off to see what Black Friday and cyber Monday deals are around  :)

Today I ordered a rear caliper rebuild kit from Wemoto and picked up some oil, oil filter and spark plugs from Halfrauds. Slight brain fart at the time and only bought 2 spark plugs

Cleaned my bike yesterday and reapplied ACF50, lots of it. Today, a rainy, windy, wet day with some hailstone I took it out down the farm track to the road (already covered in mud) then a quick ride for an hour and a half, back down the farm track now well covered but confident that ACF50 will do it's job.  :thumb:

Went on a shopping spree today for the old wee, thought it was about time to replace/improve the brakes. So I have ordered some new EBC XC discs (both front and back), plus some EBC HH pads to match (on sale as Sportsbikeshop). I also got all new pistons, seals, rubber boots, pins etc for all three callipers so no excuse for them not to work well.

I bought a second hand rear caliper off eBay as mine looked fine but upon inspection was not great, think the previous owner had trouble removing the pad pin at some point as drill marks were present. So, nice newish caliper on its way when Royal Mail go back to work.

I’ve done over 30k since I bought the bike and never changed the pads or discs, hoping the change will improve the braking a little. I’ve never had an issue with the bikes brakes, but they can always be better  :)

Couple of boring jobs last night in preparation for finishing the valve service and rebuilding her tomorrow.
Tidied up the radiator, straightened fins, flushed core and painted body.
Rolled the lip on the top of my radiator guard to stop it blocking the air channel.
Used a heat gun to soften and reshape the rear shroud which was fouling the fan on one side and the horn on the other, I'd been wondering what the rubbing noise was after I'd killed the engine when I got home.
