"Layburn".... he writes as if it was of no deeper meaning as soft southerners can only dream about. The A6108 tree, hedge and stone wall lined  as it meanders north and along the banks of the river Swale.  One day I shall return. One day.

We were finishing another of TL's epic 300 mile Alston sorties, with a Gunnerside / Muker / Angram twist. Meet near Knaresborough, breakfast at Manor Farm Cafe Bellerby, Coffee & cake in Middleton on Teesdale, fuel at Alston, coffee & ice cream in Masham. A magnificent day out.

It was indeed.

I filled up with E5 in Alston and noticed quite an improvement in throttle response, smoothness and an improvement in economy.

To all the people I'd blathered on about it won't make any difference, I was WRONG it does.

I also enjoyed my new vented shirt. It works really well and so much c.o.o.l.e.r. than a normal shirt.

https://www.screwfix.com/p/site-barchan-moisture-wicking-polo-shirt-black-large-46-chest/ they were on offer at £7.99 but even at a tenner they are rather good.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

I filled up at Hawes, it was e10 but I noticed a heavier than usual wallet when I left 😄.

I would have posted where I was going but I wouldn't want to slow you boys down, 160 miles in a day was more than enough for me.

£1.66.  :thumb: Seems strange to think of that as cheap but it is still £1.79 here. :icon_exclaim:

Had a nice ride out, just over 100 miles.
A few times during the ride I had a bit of trouble finding neutral, I did notice the same for the last few outings. When I got home I checked the service schedule & noticed I was close to 4k miles since the last oil & filter change.
I already had the filter so a quick nip across town to Halfords for the oil & completed the job after tea.  :thumb:

Not been out for a test yet Martyn, but I will in the next day or so.
I'm confident that it will though, an oil change always helps.  :)
