Finished the wiring and mounting of the 15£ auxiliary lights. Haven't tested them in the dark yet but I think I'll be quite happy.
Also coated the inside of one indicator housing with reflective tape like Rixington did. 3M "diamond grade" reflective tape. Just big words and hot air? I'll find out in the evening. At first glance the taped indicator does look a bit brighter already; if you look closely you can see that the honeycomb structure of the untaped one has much darker spots.

I can't quantify how much brighter the taped indicator is, but it definitely is brighter and I'd say it's well worth the roughly 7 £ for 1 meter of tape and maybe 30 minutes of fiddling around.
Recommendation.
The difference is better visible on the full sized image:

Had an evening ride out last night, Aberdaron to Barmouth about 100 miles there and back, very quiet coastal roads, think everyone was watching the football, if you're not a fan great time to be out on the Vstrom.

MOT passed to day. I'm happy because I do all my own work, and it's an old bike

Put a cover over it, having found one when tidying the garage...

A staggeringly brilliant idea. I take it this cloaking device changes all the cheesenium fasteners into steel?
I have just ordered a Pan America cover so I never have to check my valves again.

Thanks for the link Rusty, the Pan America is powered by Revolution Max 1250 wonder engine.
I fear you have failed to keep up with new bikes since you became indoctrinated into the Orange Order.

Mea Culpa. Thought it was the e-thing. Not been taking much notice of Harley since they brought out the Evolution engine.

I wish HD well with the new Pan America, bit of a marmite looking bike but a good one by all accounts. My then new Harley (1200 Sportster) went up in flames in the French Alps a decade ago, and although HD gave me a full refund for the defect I have never looked at them again... till now. Enjoy the new ride 🙂

Used the remaining G3 Glasscoat from doing my newer MX5 on the Strom, in the hope that the rain will stop soon so I can ride it nice and shiny.

Dearer than pet driers, though. Allegedly.

Nowt wrong with a dryer.
I use one, more often in winter, does a great job before you put the bike away.
Yes, a 'pet dryer' is half the price of one listed as a motorcycle dryer!

As the weather has been a bit wet last few days, decided to use the time to clean and check all the wiring loom connections. All cleaned and back together, just need to rebuild the bike before the sun comes out 😊.
