About to order new screen
« on: November 01, 2011, 17:22:39 »
Just about to order a new screen from slipscreen ltd. Can anyone recommend what size and colour to go for. I have terrible trouble with buffeting on my givi touring screen so would to try and eliminate this.

I can't comment on the size, but would recommend a clear one. It's sometimes difficult to see right in front of you when you go slow and have a tinted or dark screen to look through.

+1  regarding tinted though it's only in poor light I have any problem. Might well put the stock one back on for Winter with the Madstad...

The tinted looks good on the Oort grey bike mind!  :lala:
No bike at present.......

hi Donny
my 3' taller 1' wider pic is on the slipscreen thread. I went for the light tint simply for aesthetics - it hasn't bothered me being tinted at night or in the day - but it is a very light tint - being larger I thought / think it looks better and less Heath Robinson with a tint on a black bike:
although I have fitted muffs so what do I care about looks
size : 1" wider means no restriction on turning and it makes a real difference to cracking / buffering not eliminated but not a problem at all.

My screen is the largest at 50cm tall and 50cm at its widest. I have a clear screen which I recommend!
I use a madstrad with the slope at its steepest and mirror extenders on tueno mirrors. The mirrors just touch on full lock but no probs! The combination is a massive improvement, with long stints at motorway speeds no longer a problem.

I swopped to a slipscreen and madstat very shortly after getting my wee and found it great. there's a position for all weathers. Highly recommended.

Thanks pat is your screen narrower at the top than the botton or the same width the whole way? My givi screen is about four inches narrower at the top. Ps thanks again pat. :ty:  :ty:
