I suspect there is a breather for emmision regulation purposes which has clearly guffed some fuel out. This may be to protect the cat' as unburnt fuel kills cat' converters, just guessing mind. It certainly shouldn't be a lot of fuel ?
It's pronounced 'twenty-one-twelve'

Are you sure it's fuel and not water? On mine the spunge thingy over the oil breather pipe's hole collects some water. For fuel to get in it has to get blown up from the throttle bodies (the injectors are in the throttle bodies.) Since the bike is sucking air all the time it is very unlikely for fuel to go against the air 'current'. Unless you're get a lot of fuel in your oil and that gets into the airbox via the oil breather pipe? I'm just thinking out loud, feel free to ignore me  A lot of the problems you're having are things that are difficult to troubleshoot without looking at the bike for oneself.

It's been a while since I did anything mechanical, but it struck me that one way to tell would be to drop a lighted match in. If the match fizzles out it's definitely water, but if it explodes in a massive fireball, taking out everything in a 50 metre radius it's definitely fuel. (Remember to put on some protective eye wear first.)

Hahahahaha! I imagined what that would look like and it was cartoon like funny lol

A safer way would be to soak a little bit into a tip of a rag and then try to light it in an open space (away from anything else flammable!) If it catches fire immediately it is fuel, if it catches fire after some persuasion it's probably oil, else it's water.
