Coming back to the fold.....New V-Strom ordered.
« on: September 17, 2011, 19:24:03 »
Well, got bored with my cruiser after 4500 miles since this April. Had a go on a new V-Strom today, felt like being back home with some improvements.
Soooo... ordered orange one fully loaded.  Just got to wait for all the bits to come in and hopefully pick it up within a week.  It'll be nice to get back into a familiar saddle again.

Picked mine up yesterday and managed 80 miles of mixed riding at 63.3mpg! Mixed insofar as it's <5k revs for the first 600 miles of course. Very happy with it - Suzuki seem to have fixed all the 'niggles' of the 'classic' model. Best of all it definitely feels more planted on the motorway/dual carriageway.

Yes I couldn't get over how confident it felt in the wet, just so planted.  It was so much smoother too.  The gear indicator was useful.  Shame they haven't improved the exhaust to get balanced panniers on though.

I ordered some bits for it too.
Mirror extenders.
Hand Guards.
Vario screen.
High seat.
Full luggage.
Engine bars.
Belly pan.
Centre stand.

Just a hugger a 12v socket and a chain oiler left to get.

Which hugger / chain oiler are you thinking of getting?

I'm planning my Christmas gifts "suggestions"
