... When I started work in the building trade back in '82 the old Irish Foreman / Ganger Man used to call anyone who he thought had done something silly or dumb a "Gassoon" (no idea what it meant)

(No intention to offend you...it just always reminds me of him 'cos:
a) he was a good bloke really
b) He used to call me it alot!!

lol No offence took, CSE1...Maybe the name just suits me more than I thought! :bawl:

Raggydan - that forum name's been puzzling me for ages, wondering where I'd heard it before...!

Well I used to own a Nissan 300zx and the first froum I was active on was www.300zx.co.uk My username on there was NismO_UK and then it just kind of stuck as my online persona.

So why am I now GuyNismo I hear you ask? Well when I first registered here my registration crashed, so now NismO_UK is taken but I cannot access it! Oh well I kind of like GuyNismo anyway.

After leaving the army in 1992 I lived in Wales for a year.  Me and a few blokes went bowling one night and the name they chose for me was JOCKFLOB, no idea what it means but it has stuck ever since.

With the plethora of new members joining I thought it would be interesting to resurrect this thread and find out "Why the username?"

Might even have to resurrect the Urban Dictionary to find out what they really mean too!  lol

I chose mine after the big storm in NY that had happened just prior to registration so I could invert the or.... I probably thought I was being cute or something.

I usually choose Metalheart (I joined Stromtroopers.com as that) but was getting a bit bored of it and fancied a change. After the Cat Power song (I am a massive fan of Chan).

Having said that I joined across there (>>>) as rotpunkt because I have aspirations of being a climber and I used be a hardcore punker in my youth (now a distant memory...).

Mine is because I am a hunter, and discussed the wolf population (among other things offcourse) in different forums for hunters. Many of the other hunters I discussed this issues with we're very macho, and had macho nicks, so I decided to go the other way with mine:)

Seigi, meaning "Justice" in Japanese, was more a name I chose for myself when I was younger and fascinated by Japan/Anime etc. It was more in relation to the anime/movie Deathnote. I've outgrown most of that but not the username. That, and it's the less violent of my two usernames (My other being Killgroup which I stole from a friend on Runescape when I was about 13 and used everywhere so he couldn't use it, yes I am a dick   ), I mainly use Seigi on places like here where "Killgroup" might be frowned upon because it's more of a gamer-tag.

My name is Iam , like Ian but with an m. Played competitive paintball for many a year and upon meeting new members one persisted on calling me Ian until I made a point of telling him how it was spelt.  To which he called me iam, ian, Iran, Iraq or ipod or whatever your fxxxing name is.
Also use 1am when ipod not available for more obvious reasons.

I like that one! That would really frustrate a copper when he asked for your name "I am Iam".

One branch of my family tree can be traced back to Hugo Magnus (or Hugh the Great) The first King of the Franks c. 941 – 24 October 996 Though I am not sure about the wisdom of advertising the fact, bearing in mind what happened to later French royalty
