check warining

Hi All, I've got a small problem I've got a K6 DL-1000 and I've had the word "CHECK" come up on my dash where the clock would be, I've not got a hand book so is there anyone out there who can help please and tell me what I'm ment to "CHECK"

On mine K7 indicates that the emergency cut off switch in on. Have you checked that?

Not having an owners manual could you please tell me where to look to check this and also am I able to download an owners manual from any where?  Thanks for the quick reply.

Hiya. As well as the "Run" switch, this could also be a fault with the side stand switch; it gets a lot of muck! "Check" indicates a rider controlled function I.e. side stand is up, in neutral, clutch pulled in, run switch is on etc. rather than a fault.

Taken from my manual

When the display indicates "CHEC", check the following items
Make sure that the engine stop switch is in the off position (there is actually a circle with an arrow here)
Make sure that the transmission is in neutral or the side stand is fully up

If the display still indicates "CHEC" after checking the above items, inspect the ignition fuse and the connection of the lead wire couplers.

NOTE: The coolant temperature meter indicates "H" when the display shows "CHEC"
