Finally back on the road
« on: March 16, 2011, 21:37:46 »
Well its been over a year and the Wee has sat in the garage untended and feeling very lost and alone. Work pressures and family circumstances have prevented any kind of riding at all for over a year even for the commute.

Last week, I shook off the cobwebs mentally and physically, for me and the bike, fresh battery, clean polish, and off to the garage for service and MOT. Sailed through with no probs, so straight onto the web to reverse the SORN situation.

Saturday was an opportunity to finally blow away the cobwebs with a nice long ride. Come home grinning from ear to ear and vowing never to end up leaving it so long again.

Straight onto Cymarc to buy a few well deserved gifts, which I am now eagerly awaiting..

Boy is it good to be back  :lala:

Onwards and Upwards..

I don't think I'd ever last that long without a bike now, if I don't get out over the weekend I'm eager to get on it Monday morning for the commute to work. If I have holidays and I leave it in the garage for a few days I start getting 'withdrawal' symptoms and the wife starts asking when I'll be going for a ride (even she finds it unusual if I haven't been out for a ride for a few days.)

Keep your vow, enjoy riding  :thumb:

I have the same withdrawl problem, but on a sunny (OK any weather) the bike sits outside my front window, I stare out the window longingly at it, then the mrs says, oh bugger off out on your bike then!

I like what James May was quoted as saying in a Ride article last year about famous people who ride:

"It's probably the last thing I'll give up".
