Bar Risers Fitted
« on: June 13, 2010, 20:15:00 »
Have just fitted some 20mm bar risers - fantastic increase in comfort and all for a measly £18.50. They are not quite the same shape as the bar clamps which are tapered but they fit well, glad I didn't go for higher as the brake pipe has very little slack now - luckily it doesn't go across the suspension so the length is constant. I have also taken out the little blocks under the seat for better height, can't work out why I didn't do both three years ago when I got the bike.

There are 4 small rubber blocks under the DL650 seat, they are easily pulled off making it slightly lower. I got the risers on eBay, they are advertised as for Suzuki Bandit and are not tapered but they fit OK. The tape is to stop my keys scratching the bars btw.

I was thinking of adding some bar risers myself, if anyone knows of some that are neater, I'd appreciate if you can tell me where I can get them. 20 or 25mm ones should be just about right.

Good tip about the blocks under the seat.  :thumb:

Every once in a while I wish the seat was just a bit lower, especially  after a very long ride.  I might try it.
