Lambda sensor.....
« on: October 08, 2024, 21:46:57 »
Tonight I fitted a Delkavic carbon exhaust to my 2017 XT.
It looks and sounds great, however, the lambda sensor broke when I was trying to remove it from the existing exhaust.
What impact would leaving this disconnected have other than the F1 code showing?
Should I replace it with a new sensor or by a sensor eliminator kit?
I'd appreciate your thoughts....
Cheers

If you really, really need the bike , fine ride it till you sort it... but the fueling will be off, if you don't sort the O2 sensor. Plus if something else goes wrong the FI light is already on and will give no warning.
The eliminator is going to be the cheapest.
Personally, whenever I change intake / exhausts from std I always get a dyno run to confirm the fuelling is OK , if running too lean it can burn the valves.

Thanks Nigel
I'll get an eliminator for it.
I don't need to use the bike urgently....

The eliminator will help with any flat spots from the Delkevic exhaust also.
Had both on my 2012 model along with a replacement air filter and was / is fine. :thumb:

Thanks folks. I picked up an eliminator from ebay and that's done the trick.
The lights have gone out and the bike is running great, no flat spots etc.....
Sounds great too.
