Left side OEM Mirror for my Suzuki V-Strom DL1000A 2014
« on: August 11, 2024, 20:50:21 »
As it says in the heading, I'm in need of a left side OEM mirror. I was pulling away from traffic lights and dropped my bike. How? It's a mystery to me but I had just been talking to a young lad smoking a joint while walking down the street.

I was slowly passing him when I smelt the joint so stopped and told the young lad that his joint could be smelt 100m away and he really should be more covert when smoking it. His hand and other arm was bandaged and he told me he was smoking it to ease the pain.

Anyway, our conversation ended up taking about 5 minutes and the smoke was being blown in my face. After picking my bike up with the help of a car driver who was behind me I pulled over to check my bike and the only damage was the mirror, the crash bar wasn't even marked. Wow! Thank God for the crass bars.

I then walked to a supermarket caffe and sat drinking tea and reading the paper for half an hour before heading home.

Has anybody got one in the garage that would post it to me in Devon please. My preferred payment would be PayPal friends and family but I could do bank transfer if preferred. Thank you in advance, please PM me if you can help.  :thumb:

Why not try some cheap mirrors of Ebay Doc?  I think mine are Kawasaki er6 knock offs, look better than Suzuki oe and less wind buffeting. Other models fit, ie Aprilia but a didn't like the head angle on those.

Thank you Porter. Yes I did consider replacing them with other brands but to be honest although the OEM mirrors have their faults, they do give a perfect view and I have the extensions fitted to put them in the right place. I think I would miss the originals if I replaced them with something else but I will if the other option is to pay a fortune for a new original from Suzuki. Thanks again for the suggestion.    :thumb:

Thank you Rusty Nuts. I was going to have my dinner early because I'm off to the theatre tonight then I was going to take the mirror off my 650 and put it on the 1000 then order some others from AliExpress to replace both mirrors on the 650. I had a quick check here first, saw your suggestion, bit the bullet and then clicked a couple of buttons and it's on the way. It looks exactly like the OEM part so it will do the job. Thank you for making up for my laziness.   :thumb:

Only just come on today & saw this. I presume the 1000 is 10mm thread?
Pity, I'm sure we could have done a deal?
