Hi Gert

I have used Talon to get my two rear sprockets, and they have been very helpful, but a bit costly.

I still had a sprocket from my old DL1000 (K8) (JT Sprockets No JTR 1876) in the garage and the sprocket spacings were the same as the 800RE, so that's what I ask Talon to make me, as usually they only go up to 47T, but did not have one at the time of ordering.

I hope this rambling makes sense.

Cheers

The look-up table / catalogue that I referenced, was from https://www.jtsprockets.com/catalogue/

I didn't know that the UK K8 Vee used a different rear sprocket to hub mounting spacing compared to that of the US models (aka 130mm vs 140mm).

Looking at the hub mounting measurements in https://www.jtsprockets.com/catalogue/model/s2523/ (K8 Vee) vs https://www.jtsprockets.com/catalogue/model/s2514/ (800 RE) vs https://www.jtsprockets.com/catalogue/part/JTR1876/ (JTR1876)

Thanks for pointing out that there this difference on the UK Vee.

Hi

Just an update after fitting the 48T rear sprocket.

At an indicated 74mph (with the Garmin showing 70mph), the engine is running at very close to 5k revs.

This to me feels comfortable and I will leave it on for now, as its only 300+ miles since the sprocket was fitted.

Cheers
