Ground clearance
« on: May 25, 2024, 13:21:29 »
Hi.
I need information about stainless steel dice with a hole spacing of 125/130 mm.
I want to increase the ground clearance on my Suzuki DL650 AL2.
Thank you for all your suggestions and information

Dice?
Why is it too low?
Already been lowered?
Not much you can do at the front end, I'm afraid.

Increasing ground clearance on a motorcycle has all sorts of implications.

I need to raise it by 2 inches or 5-6 cm or more. Increase the front suspension travel by 5-6 cm.
I don't know who does this in the UK. That's why I'm looking for information.
The front suspension can be modified. I found a company in Poland that does this, but due to Brexit, delivery prices are expensive.
that's why I'm looking for the British market.
Everything can be converted  :)

I have just read the Stormtrooper link above. It reminded me of a chap at a motorbike show in Plymouth many years ago. I saw a chap struggling to turn his Ducati around so he could ride away. Obviously I went over and helped. It was a small bike so I just lent it on it's side stand, spun it around then stood back so he could climb aboard. It was then I noticed a block of wood attached to the bottom of the stand to prevent it leaning so much.

Yes, it looked awful but I suppose it did the job. Talking with him for a couple of minutes revealed that he had won £3.000.000 on the lotto and bought the bike of his dreams, I couldn't help think that he might have done better with the stand.  :thumb:
