Trekker 58L top case on a vstrom 650?
« on: January 11, 2024, 14:28:22 »
Hello, I have just bought a brand new vstrom 650cc and I'm indecided as to which tops case I should put on it. I would use it for daily use, work, running errons, groceries and using it for a few 200kms rides and for the gym.
Would the 58L trekker de an ideal fit for the size of my bike?
Thank you for any feedback

I've got a 52L trekker on my 650 & it's fine. personally I don't think it's too big or out of place. I don't think another 6L would make much difference?
What you do need to be careful of is the weight you put into it. Givi recommend a max of 10kg, a fair bit, but easy to reach if you're not careful.
The heavier it is the more it could affect the bike's handling too.

Thank you for the reply. Even though the 58L has 6L more volume than your 52L the dimensions are pretty much the same, its mainly the volume and shape that changes from top case to top case but the dimensions stay the same. And that goes for the majority of makes and models.

Hi Gav

I have used a 58 litre Givi Trekker Outback top box on a number of touring trips around the UK and overseas on my L2, and found it fine in use, and certainly did not look out of place at any time.

I bought the V47 as I wanted as light a box as possible, bearing in mind it is mounted quite high. It holds 2 helmets.

My considered advice would be:
Don't go anywhere near a gym.
