Windy buffeting revisited
« on: October 24, 2023, 16:20:36 »
A few weeks ago on the journey home after picking up the DL650 I remembered its main flaw - wind noise/buffeting.
Having previously owned the 1000 I assumed I'd just replicate the set up I had on that - Airflow and mirror change, which worked brilliantly.
But no. it's not that easy. Second hand Airflow on, mirrors borrowed from my Tuono and it's much better but still not as good as the 1000 was.
As an experiment I put the standard mirrors back on and crikey, really bad - I didn't think just the mirror swap would make that difference.
Tuono mirrors back on and some more fiddling. Currently testing some spacers to lift and tilt the screenout a bit (see pics. the spacers are from one of those VESA TV bracket things, the larger ones being about 20mm).
Better again. Almost there!
Can test more when it's run in.

I could not get on with the airflow, but you are right, air flow under was the key for me.
Here is what I ended up with, spacers and all.
