Fairing pushy in clip things
« on: September 20, 2023, 07:22:39 »
Does anyone know the sizes of the fairing push in plastic clips. I believe there are two sizes.

Also has anyone purchased any from anywhere that offer a good quality against a reasonable price. Main places appear very expensive.

Cheers

Ian

Not sure of the push rivet size on your model. On my 1st gen Wee, the sizes are one 8mm and the rest 6mm, if I remember correctly.
Perhaps the info in https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=37584.0 can clarify a bit more.
Have you tired searching on ebay as a less expensive option to the dealers?

Thanks Gert

Just found as near measurements as I can funny enough from Wemoto.

They sell two sizes for the 13 model:

25mm long. 17mm top cap. 6.1mm diameter push pin.
20.5mm long. 12mm top cap. 4.7mm diameter push pin.

So I think given most appear to be sold as 5mm. 6mm. 7mm etc that they go to the nearest size.

So in this case 6mm and 5mm.

I will order some from the eBay place and just see what they are like.

Cheers

Ian

It is good to hear that you have found a replacement source.

Out of interest, do you perhaps know where all is the 4.7mm rivet used? I find it that Suzuki end up with two rivet sizes, instead of remaining with one size fits all of the 6mm.

A quick look at the parts list, shows part number 09409-06314-5PK, but the size is not listed.

I bought some off ebay for my bike. I didn't know there are two sizes and the ones I got were too big so, if there are only two sizes, you need the small ones. Hope this helps.  :thumb:

A bit further searching through 1st gen Wee parts list, confirms the use of same part number 09409-06314-5PK is the same part number that is used on the L2 -L6 models.
When I cross reference this part number in relation to the cowling, the gauges trim and the rear panels of my 1st gen, then this  09409-06314-5PK part number is a 5.9m (6mm) push rivet.
