Took one out the other week. Really nice bike, engine is fantastic, handles great on road and is comfy too.  A bit plasticy for the money, I thought.
A little too insubstantial for long distance / touring I thought, so I bought a low mile 1050xt for less money.
The 800 was very nice though.

Having watched a few vids including Kates and reading a few articles, I think it would suit us for touring very well in many areas. Main things I dislike, are tubed tyres, it's a bit heavy and that seat height is crazy tall for a short arse like me.

Strange girl and not a proper biker. A minute into the video she passed a café without stopping for breakfast. What's that all about?  :)

I rode one a few weeks ago, I mentioned it on another thread. The ride was road only but I loved it and when I chased a Hayabusa (also a demo bike) I realised that the V-Strom  was quick though it did shake it's head a little on full throttle at high speed (on a private road officer) but it didn't feel dangerous and it's not often you would ride this bike (or any bike) at over 100mph on a road. Really nice bike and not too high. The brakes compaired to my DL650 Wee were fantastic too.

What's not to like?  :thumb:

Tubed tyres and the price… but that might be addressed soon with a rumoured road version with 19” front alloy wheels and no tubes  :)

graingerblaze. I agree with that, tubed tyres in this day and age? I have to say though, the 21 inch wheel didn't stop it handling at least as well as my Wee. I would rather have a 19 inch though as road tyre choice would be better.  :thumb:

A lower, 19" front wheel, tubeless version is definitely on its way, (allegedly!). Autumn '23, hopefully. It seems to be an open secret at Suzuki.
