2007-2011 year model bikes will work for you.
Before 2007 model has only has 2 plugs and some of the connectors won't line up.

If I read this right ,if the bike for sale is a 2011 (L1) it should be the same as yours. Mr Diver could help.

Don't use year of registration its misleading.

Use model year only eg L1, K6 ect

2009 means it's a safe bet yours would be either a K8, K9 or L0.
K7-L1 bikes would essentially be the same bike exept for the ABS system and colour panels and screens.
(I have seem people lists glees as L1 models as they were registered/ bought in 2011, but all Glee'e are L2 onwards)
that's the problem, if the seller doesn't know exactly what their selling and the buyer can't differentiate you could have an issue.

What I would do is get an engine from a breakers and just swap the engine out. I did this on one of my SVs a few years ago, had an oil leak, ran it too low and destroyed the bottom end.
I started the swap on a Saturday morning and it’s was all done by Sunday afternoon

Just an update after my brain fart and posting two strange random questions .

I bought and collected the bike from Facebook link provided , Graham sent me some pics , thank you .

It did look a bit ropy in the pics but strangely it’s a nice as mine , came with all the luggage , heated grips , aux lights , sump guard , Scot oiler , tank bagster , a few locks , new tyres and a new battery but no MOT . 66000 miles all for £600 , yup .
I’ve. It had a close look at it as it was a 8 hour round trip Sunday so just lobbed in the garage , I have noticed the fan always runs .
I'm waiting for the kicker as it just seems too cheap , really nice chap that sold it and seem genuine .

I’ve not looked to see if the engine will fit but I’m not sure I need to as it’s seems all OK so far , going to take it for a run when it finally stops raining .

Soooo , I’m still looking for an engine to fit so I have two really nice storms !
