Flashing FI light...
« on: October 10, 2022, 11:48:41 »
Hello all. My bike won't start. The FI light is flashing. I can hear the pump appearing to prime.

The bike only has 6,000 on the clock.

Any suggestions for quick checks I can do?

I've only had the bike for a week so be gentle.

The bike is a 1000cc model, year is 2016

Thank you

The only trouble I've had with mine was it wouldn't start one afternoon and it was the earth lead, corrosion at the engine mount but I had no F1 light if remember. There was a recall for this and yours being a 16 should have it.
You need to read the code of the dash to see if there's a fault and what it is. There's a grey block connector under the seat you can short out with a clip (Google seach) or buy the switch of ebay that connects in and let's you read codes and check the throttle position senor.
Also the clutch switch can give trouble, easy to short and the side stand switch but I've had no trouble with either in 40k miles.
  Hope you find something.

To clarify the non starting, is the engine turning when you depress the starter button or is there no response when you press the starter button?
Take note of the info on the gauges prior to pressing the starter button. If I have it correct, there should be a built in volt meter?  What is the battery voltage before and after you press the starter.
