Help Please.
« on: July 06, 2022, 09:14:02 »
Now I'm back from Spain and Portugal on the Pan I thought I would turn my attention to the Wee.
I need to fit a top box and rider foot peg lowerers.
I'm thinking after consulting the Internet thingymabob on the following.
Givi SRA 3112 rack for Monokey fitment. Possibly with the 58 l Ali Box.
The Givi site is a little confusing, yes I'm old and daft, if you have fitted this rack I would welcome your views, and confirmation that it requires nothing else to fit the box onto. If you've got pictures with top box on even better. I'm concerned by encroachment into the pillion area.
The rider pegs need dropping a little and I'm thinking Cosmo is the way to go. Again your thoughts and findings are sought. Can these only be ordered from Cosmo direct.
Thanking you in anticipation.

The SRA3112 will fit 650s from '17 onwards. I use it on my '17 plate 650. It fits on top of the existing rack, with support struts either side (see fitting instructions below) to improve weight bearing. It doesn't intrude into the pillion seat space at all, with or without a box fitted. It looks neater than some others and has a nice aluminium finish. I use a Kappa 46L monokey box on mine. Personally, I wouldn't want to go as large as 58L - too bulky for me.
Here's the fitting instructions:

For Sale on this forum is my little used Kappa (will also fit Givi) top plate assembly, support struts etc plus all fitments and fitting instructions. I think mine is monolock ( but I don't know the difference between monolock/monokey). However on my " for sale " post, you can see the plate fitments, and see where the plate fits on to the top box. I had it all supplied and fitted with a 42L Kappa top box, by  a Suzuki dealer to my 2021 650 Strom ( bike now sold ) for 3 months only from new. All the bits are present as per SR 3112-KR3112. Cost to me fitted new was £105.95. Selling for £50 plus £9 postage.

FatRat.
I read somewhere that folks were having problems with Cymarc lowerers?
I'll check them out again thanks.
TigerJohn.
Great help, thanks. As I suspected the Givi site is incorrect and the Ali plate is all that is required.
Malfos.
Unfortunately I'll be going Monokey or Shad, but probably Monokey.
Thanks.

I've got the Cymarc kit & it's been on for around 8years, no problem at all.
It was one member on here that had a problem with them bending but I've not heard of any others.

Now then.....
Cymarc lowerers ordered, they seem like good folk.
The SRA rack and Trekker box ordered. Box on back order.
But, what engine bars are you using......I'm thinking Givi, but I know there are others. What y’all think. Plus suppliers for Givi bars in the UK seem almost non existent.

Could anyone confirm that the Givi TN3101's fit both pre 17 and post 17. Ebay is a little confusing. I'm guessing all TN3101's are the same and they fit both models.
