Oil cooler hose
« on: July 02, 2022, 17:58:04 »
I have a pin hole in the oil cooler pipe, the one on the right with the flexi and solid pipe on my 2008 650. A new hose is £120 so not keen on that option. I found info after doing a search on the forum, suggesting a company like pirtek could make up a flexi pipe to replace it. Anyone changed their hose for something similar, just wondering if there was a reason Suzuki went with the partial solid pipe. Can anyone see any problem using a complete flexi pipe.
Thanks

I bought used set of SV1000 (same part no) for my klv some time ago. I paid for a set $42 including shipping (about £35). No duty applied. Try ebay US.

Those from SV650 will most likely fit, same engine I believe.

The only reason I can think of for Suzuki to use a steel section is to enable a sharper turn to be incorporated into the hose to make fitting easier.

Thanks for the replies.
I've bought one on eBay off a sv650 in Florida, looks in decent condition from the photos.

My came form Oregon, not a single bit of rust on it. It was like brand new. Shipping was more expensive than the hoses :D Hoses itself 14$
