Help identifying pannier frame
« on: June 24, 2022, 23:47:58 »
Hi everyone, can anyone help me to identify the pannier frame I have on my bike a DL1000 K2.

I have recently bought the bike without pannier and would like to know what I can fit onto them.

I'd be really grateful if anyone can help.

I'd guess (older) givi ones judging by the top triangle block

I'd say Givi, similar to mine except the triangle is on the underside of the top rail and the lower fixings are in a different place.
What are the distances between the fixing points?

Thanks for the replies!

The distance between the fixing points is approx 24cm.

So I'm probably looking for some vintage Givi panniers???

If they are in fact Givi monokey the dimensions are still current, I believe. No vintage-hunting required.

The 'mushrooms' on my Givi Monokey frames are 22.5cm apart, centre to centre and the distance, vertically, from the centre of the 'mushrooms' to the centre of the triangle/top fixing is 22cm.

You can always change the upper mushroom to use other panniers. Givi do conversion kits

Have you checked those dims? I found some on an American site, converted to imperial, and they were way off.

I have, I modded my original Suzuki brackets so that I can switch between the original boxes and my Givi boxes.

Nice one. As is becoming increasingly apparent,  the internet is full of posts and re-posts, but someone who's actually done it and can vouch for the information - that's what the Web needs more of.

To switch between the two, you have to change over the mushrooms and the lock fitting, but it only takes 10mins.
I did it because if going on a longer trip the Suzuki boxes are slightly smaller, and the clam shell panniers, even though they are only 1Litre smaller, the shape makes it more difficult for packing than my E36 Givi panniers.

Thanks everyone, great information, just what I needed. It looks like they are the Givi monokey dimensions.
