Calling any Carburettor experts
« on: May 29, 2022, 13:21:50 »
I am way too young to understand these things so bear with me. Using my common sense and basic analysis, I think this is correct.

1. There is a bowl shaped piece at the bottom of the Carburettor and I assume this is designed to capture and store grit. I am also assuming that as this one is nowhere near full that I can leave it until the next service?

2. There is a brass screw in doo dah, this looks like it once had a hole in it, this hole seems to have been repaired naturally by the build up of some green substance, I am assuming I should just thank nature for that and ignore it and hope the hole doesn't come back?

3. There is an inline filter, this looks like it was once clear plastic, again it looks like nature has reduced the risk of any leaks by filling any gaps, is this OK?

Thanks in advance, for context, this is the 100cc Quad we use at the August meet.

The condition of the carb is not funny. Some folk put their life on the line to get their name, in glory, on the trophy.

This is way above the usual Jetwash Service it usually gets, the lap times this year should be improved  :smirk:

You need a big money sponsor for the quad biking trophy, able to pony up for the eye-watering cost of £14.55 for a new filter and spark plug, and a few minutes labour. (You may need to forgo the expense of a jetwash this year though).

You could get a glass-shattering soprano to sing at it .... I assume that's what's meant by "ultrasonic cleaning"!
