The on site sale section or auction?
«

As I have just sold my 2018 V-strom 1000 to my local dealer, who then managed to sell it within 30minuets of me dropping it of !
I was going to put the parts that I removed on the auction site as I have not sold much on forums before.
Have other members had much luck selling on the for sale section, or do you think that it would be better to just put them on the auction site?
I have gone down to one bike now and I will probably ,keep it for a while as I am pinning my hopes that Suzuki will bring out a 700/800 bike next year or the year after.

I'd definitely try here first.

I eventually sold all the bits I took off of my 1k Strom via this site.
Took a little while but all the sale to members went without a hitch

Advertise here first is my opinion. What have you got to lose? As said already, it costs you nothing and it may do you and another forum member a favour.

OK I will have to get the parts photographed .Would it be best to just put an image of the bike on the forum then list the parts, so as not to take up to much of the site with lots of images?
Then I can email them to anyone who asks for them.
The big problem is trying to think what the items are worth now that they are second hand .

FWIW most of the bike forums l visit the first thing I look at is the for sales section bikes and, bits.
Personally I've sold thousands of pounds worth of bits in various bike and cycling forums without any hassle, I would list them realistically priced with good descriptions and pics and see how it goes.

If I am to put images of the items, do I need to get them as small as possible to post them on the forum?

The site will resize them (within reason) but if you start with something around 800px x 600px all should be well

To be honest I do not know what bits of my bike will fit others.
My bike was this one which I think is a AL8 .
I will have a MRA screen ,Givi quick release pannier rails ,Remus can , Suzuki ally belly pan Coventry custom seat and Suzuki workshop manual to list once that I have taken some images of them.

Steve,
I have pannier rack and a screen from a K6 1000. They look exactly like the ones that were on my K2 which I traded in against the K6
