battery ? charging ?
« on: November 07, 2021, 13:02:20 »
hi all , strom let me down yesterday , had been out for a ride , stopped to get some fuel and bike wouldn't start , just a lot of clicking from under the seat area  ? walked home and went back with my battery pack ( doh ) normally have it in the top box , started instantly , when home checked voltage at battery with bike on idle , 14.6 volts , turned bike off voltage was 12,2 volts , but won't start without battery pack , have ordered new battery , or does anyone else think it could be something more serious  , have included picture of old battery

Yes,  sounds like the battery has given up.

14.6v is a good a charge rate but re check it with the new battery.

Not a high quality battery there... that's likely the issue. Failed cell. It will read a half decent voltage, but will have no amps behind when you hit the starter.

Yuasa or motobatt would be my choice.
