Hi! I’m the proud owner of a(nearly) new 1050XT - my first Suzuki since 1978. My initial impressions are very good, and I’m enjoying the engine characteristics and low tech simplicity of the bike. My only concern, so far, is with the performance of the front suspension - on poor road surfaces, every imperfection seems to be transferred to the rider, and spoils an otherwise excellent bike. I’m aware of the range of suspension adjustments which are a available, but would much prefer guidance from members who have experienced this problem. As an aside, my was new in September last year, and the owner covered less than 700 miles before trading it in for a KTM, due, I believe, to the suspension issue. Help!!!

I've never ridden a 1050 but this is the main thing I don't like about my 2014 Veek, forks look similar though inside may be different.
I've tried many things over the years without the susscess I was looking for.
New springs with lighter oil but that was worse, kept the lighter oil and larger air gap (2.5w oil 140mm gap) with oe springs but it's still not how I'd like.
Start by taking all the compression damping off, screw at bottom of fork leg, this does little but might help.
Biggest thing for me has been the tyres. I used Bridgestone A40, and 41 after the oe tyres worn out, I grew to hate them as there so stiff sidewalled, and a know the 1050 has them as oe fitment. I changed to pilot road 4's then 5's and things where much better.
I think the only real fix is to have someone revalve the cartridge.
Hope this is of some help and some else with your model can help more.

Welcome and nice bike. I can’t personally help with your suspension set up but I have used revs racing on several occasions with good results. They’re south of Birmingham and really good blokes, suspension is their primary business.

Take the compression damping out a couple of clicks. The suspension will become a bit more compliant after the initial break in process,  you may want to wind the back in after.
