I'm also glad you're sorted & if the bike has been assembled incorrectly, then that might explain your issues? I've also never had problems draining and refilling mine either* but for such a critical part of the bike, I'd get it done by a garage if it was causing me issues too
(*of course I may just be used to riding with crap brakes...
)
