Black parts in engine oil
« on: February 21, 2021, 07:01:04 »
I filtered the used engine oil to see if there were any things I would not like to see there... and actually... I found some weird, black parts there. but I imagine they came there for some other reason than draining the oil. Because are there any black parts in the engine?

The plug had no metal parts attached. But instead, there were some grey "goo" sitting along the magnet part

Quite often it's engine gasket sealant.

Nothing too much to worry about unless you get lots on follow up services.

When they press the two halves of crankcase together it squidges out and some of it comes loose.
