M.O.T Tomorrow.
« on: January 18, 2021, 18:15:48 »
Today I made a phone call to book my Vstrom in for M.O.T. tomorrow. I then took it to a pressure washer and gave it a really good wash and clean up. It was covered in ACF50 and filthy but 30 minutes later it looked like a new bike as I had taken all the materiel's needed for the clean with me.

I then gave it a quick once over, the front brake pads that I knew would need changing soon have 2mm at most left on them. I'm hoping it passes though so as I can buy the pads then come home and fit them rather than do it outside the bike garage (probably in rain) for a retest.

It wouldn't be a problem either way but the M.O.T station I always use is nearly 40 miles away. Fingers crossed.  :fix:

Should only be a fail if the pad material is less than 1.0mm, or contaminated, or not perform.

2mm will be a pass with an advisory.

If you don't want this advisory held on the vehicle records change them beforehand.  :thumb:

Thank you both for your reassurance men  :thumb:. Either way, if he has the EBC sintered pads that I want, I will buy them from him so that should reassure him that they will be fitted.  :)

Well, the bike passed its test with no advisories. I had told the tester that the pads will be changed this week but after checking them he said they would be good for another 500 miles. I got my monies worth out of them.

Have a good day tomorrow everyone, stay safe and keep smiling.  :)

I didn't cover 500 miles all last year.
