Cheers mate, I actually had to lean the tank to the left side (as much as attached pipe would allow) - that gave me a bit more purchase.

Definitely listen for the click on installation so it doesn't leak. Might be worth running the engine to check before putting it all back together.

As a note.

If you get one of the sides to release but not the other it will not come off!
Both have to be released at the same time.

Hi, can somebody assist and share experience. When tried to connect the fuel connector with the fuel pump one of the o rings broke. There are 3 of them, green, black and beige + a plastic ring. They all sit in front of the blue clips on a pipe. Don't know what I've done wrongly! These o rings are not listed as spare parts nor I could find a complete connector as a separate part. Probably all comes as a fuel hose set at around EUR 100. Any advise? Thanks.

Working end clips are available. Combine them with fuel injection rated clamps and hose to handle 43psi and you can make your own. http://www.vstrom.info/Smf/index.php/topic,6105.270.html

Use clamps like the one on the left, not the one on the right.

Thanks Greywolf, in a mean time I managed to reassemble the original connector. Found one exact O ring in one box and somehow it works. But I will definitely look at your suggestion and get me those connectors. It's good to have them just in case. Cheers, thanks

Hello
Just a small suggestion to save your fingers, is to wrap a zip-tie around the blue bits to hold them in whilst wiggling everything else.
This has helped me a number of times, and if it gets easier over time, I have not noticed it.

A little tip I have learned is: when you pinch the two tangs together
on the fuel connector, push the whole lot further on and it will release the catches easier.
