Will 2018 DL650 XT wheels fit 2016 DL650?

As in the title, looking for some info if I would be able to swap my 3 spoke cast wheels off my '16 glee for the tubeless spoked offerings off a 2018 XT model? Swing arm/fork & brakes looks the same but was unsure with the '18 having traction control if there would be any fitting issues? Any help muchly appreciated!

I don't know if they will fit but I'd advise you to consider carefully if you want the pain that comes with spokes (corrosion, ongoing maintenance etc.).

I would never have spokes if there was a cast option

As above. Pointless exercise unless your cast wheels are broken. When I bought my V-STROM dealer offered me XT version. More money for an inferior product on my opinion.

The main reason I want spoked is I use the bike off road regularly, the pro's far out way an extra half hours cleaning, but for strictly road work I agree, cast make sense.

Well thought I would answer my own question! Yes the wheels off the new DL650XT do fit the 2012-16 'Strom, even the sprocket carrier can be simply switched between the two if needed. Cheers

Holy thread revival Bat Man!

On a similar vein. I have an 2016 XT with the wire wheels. I've seen a pair of cast wheels from the current model up for grabs (which look far prettier than the three spokes!).

I really do wince every time my hefty Almax chain clanks through the spoked wheels.

Would they fit? Cross checking the parts fiche's for both models seem to suggest it should work, but I thought I'd run it past you blokes for a "sanity check". I'm not expecting it to improve the bike in any way. Obviously I'd replace all bearings etc.

Yes as stated they will fit fine, why is your chain hitting your wheels though!?

Almax security chains are pretty beefy, and the gaps between spokes are much smaller on wire wheels than cast.
