In the middle of installing Givi Handguards, and right barend is now removed (see attachment) - But I actually can't figure out how to reinstall it - it is like it doesn't really catch any grip. Can anyone in here give a hint, please?

The nut at the end is spinning when you attempt to tighten the bolt at the other end.
Tighten the nut a little more to expand the rubber while it's out so when you insert it into the bar it grips the inside then, once the rubber grips it'll tighten easy.

Is that exactly as it came out or have you modified it at all to fit the hand guards?
On mine I had to slightly compress the rubber by tightening the bolt before I installed them. Get it to a point it takes a bit of a wiggle to force the bung up inside the bars and it should then grip enough to stop the end bolt spinning.

Ironically I noticed mine was loose on the throttle side yesterday. I tightened it up really tight, but then the throttle wouldn't move. Slackening it off a little then pulling it out a couple of mm before tightening it up solved the problem.

It was like that when it came out, yes. And tightening it a little so that the rubber expands will make it tight so that it gets a grip. Thanks.

And then...it went stiff again the other evening (fnar). WTF? Ah, the heated grips were on, and the throttle rubber expanded just enough to bridge the gap to the bar end washer. One to watch out for if you have heated grips.
