Levers

Looking around it appears the shape of the brake and clutch levers differ. That strikes me as unusual. I am sure someone will know why?

I would think that as long as the lever to perch pivot pins have a good fit in each housing plus the necessary cam moldings have enough activation travel to operate the clutch switch, front brake light switch and the brake master cylinder plunger each time the lever is applied, then all is well. There are some levers on sale that offer the length of the finger grip section either as shorter, stock or are adjustable in length, to suit the rider's preference. Some you can adjust the travel for smaller hand size.
Do you have any pix of the lever difference that you are referring to or are concerned about?.

The pix helps clarify your query. Confirmed, from the colour difference between the two, the one on the left (ie clutch) does not appear to be stock. Is there a cam to activate the clutch switch on that lever? If not, is the clutch switch bypassed / shorted out or is the clutch lever from a DL1000?

In what way are they Odd..?

That's the way they are designed.

How would you want them to look / function .?

Gert ,
The colour difference is due to the way the photo is taken and they are from what looks like a DL650 with a cable operated clutch.

Chief trouble maker 🙂

Am Just used to levers being the same. It’s not the colour but the clutch is “stepped” therefore needing less “reach” than the brake, which is straight

Is the the clutch lever stepped to go around the more bulky left side switch block?
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Kwackboy, you may be correct wrt the colour difference in the pix. As regards the shape of the levers, if I remember, I will go and check on the levers of my K5 and K6 Wee in the morning, to satisfy my own curiosity. When I first replied, did go out to measure the two levers for overall length but did not take a closer look at the shape of the clutch lever vs that of the brake lever. Besides the colour shading, the levers in the posted pix looked like they where of different lengths. This could again be due to a camera angle.

Just confirmed the shape of the both levers are the same as in the pix. It's a bugger when you have more than one brand of bike in the garage. Amazing what one takes for granted :violence-smack:
