Sat Nav bracket recommendations 2020 1000 xt
« on: October 27, 2020, 15:41:59 »
Hi can any one recommend me a Sat Nav bracket for my sumo 660.
Like the look of the one's that attach to the screen fixings & have a round bar in the middle, so the Sat Nav is above the dash ,

Thanks,
Ian

I have one from a Czech company called Marselus on my K7, it's pretty rigid and it does away with the entire RAM mount section so it sits nice and tight in to the screen which keeps it out of the elements. I have added some large stainless penny washers to mine for rigidity but the newer model mounts on 4 bolts rather than 2 so I would think it will be super stiff. The finish on their stuff seems nice and things like the fasteners were all stainless on mine.
They have a UK store here:
https://marselus-uk.shop/en_GB/p/GPS-Sat-Nav-mount-holder-angle-adjustment-Suzuki-V-Strom-DL1000-2014-/39

But it may be cheaper to order it direct from them as it was in my case:
https://www.marselus.com/en/d/polohovatelny-drzak-navigace--Suzuki-v-strom-1000-od-rv-2014-1000277/?section=description

They do some nice other bits as well if you want to get value out of your postage :)

I bought one of these ages ago for my 2014 DL1000 (same size/fittings as the later DL1000 models I think): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Crossbar-Handlebar-Bike-GIVI-FB3114-Door-Gps-Smartphone-Suzuki-DL1000/254743633120?epid=2172197080&hash=item3b4fe75ce0:g:1XcAAOSwFsBdARYH

Personally I couldn't get on with the Sat Nav right in front of me, so I took it straight off after a test ride around the block. At £40 it's the most expensive accessory per mile I've ever bought! It's sitting here in its bag - £20 plus postage if it's any use to you.

I've got an SW-Motech one bolts to the accessory bar behind the windscreen.

It's brand new still in the box if you want to make me an offer.
