gearing on DL250
« on: July 28, 2020, 00:20:32 »
Standard cogs are 14 up front and 47 at the back.  I'm currently running a 39 on the back and am considering a 15 up front as well .  Unless you're competing in hill climbs or you're you're into hard core off road riding, the standard gearing is frustrating.  Shuffling around town you're shifting through six gears before you're across the intersection.  With the 39 on the back 100km/h (GPS = 108 indicated), revs dropped from 8400 to 6800, still above the torque peak.  It feels normal. Fun, plenty in reserve.   I do a lot of highway stuff thus considering going taller still.

Hello,
I read with interest your modification on the DL250. Currently you drive with a 15 * 39, could you tell me the engine speeds in 6th at 50 km / h?
At what engine speed and speed can you pick up in 6th?

It is very practical to cross the city and its traffic jams but then on the expressways I find that the engine turns a little fast in 14 * 47 ...
With the original configuration, we can resume at 28 km / h in 6th gear and at 90 km / h, we drive at 7000 rpm.

You indicate that with the 39 at the rear at 100 km / h (GPS = 108 indicated), the speeds went from 8400 to 6800.

Thank you for your help.

Andy

As I'd said on your own thread, this chap spat the dummy when we wouldn't change the forum structure to his liking so don't expect an answer.
