With an engine Cowley?
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

I put this up to show not all crimping tools are the same or indeed any good. Although, the tools shown are not really auto wiring sized.

All back together and running happily apart from the ba$t4rd FI light, coupled with the fact that I can't get the speedo back to MPH. It goes through the reset but flips back the KPH as soon as the FI error flashes up

I tried an Italian tune-up to see if I could clear it, but the little beggar is determined to stay on.

So before I get to removing the tupperware and looking for my mistake, does any kind soul know ...

a) Is there anything under the tank that I might have not connected, even if the bike runs and everything is working (even the heated grips!)
b) The bike is almost out of fuel - can this impact the FI light considering I've had it to bits?
c) The dash and battery were both completely disconnected
d) The bike has been turned on & off several times with the dash disconnected

Reading the forum there is mention of a 15-minute battery disconnect reset, which I'll try while hoping for pearls of wisdom  :ty:

Found it. My mistake. I'd missed a connector on the airbox.

It's a relief when it turns out to be something like that.

So I bit the bullet and splashed out on Ebay treating myself to a Crimping tool that has five sets of jaws and a screwdriver all in nice little zip up bag. It came today. When I was checking it out I noticed some small fly sized lump of something brown. I removed it with tweezers and tissue and it cleaned up OK. I was wondering if it is bat poo!  Should I leave the tool, now newly wiped with bleach, in the garage for a week or so?
I am at some point on the scale between justifiable concern and paranoia leaning towards the latter.

Suzuki called back and confirmed that the paperwork on the recall and reality do not match - @Porter you were spot on

Suzuki then stunned me by offering the complete the recall for me (replace the wiring loom and ignition) because this was not what happens to Suzuki Customers.

The whole story is https://fliesonthevisor.com/Suzuki-customer-services if you want to read it.

I was stunned but turned them down. I'll replace the connector and one of the other ones of the same type when I next have the tank off. But what an offer ... 11 out of 10 for Suzuki  :thumb:

I'm not sure but I think Suzuki replaces that connector with waterproof one.

The dealer I bought my bike from "did" the recall work originally and charged Suzuki for it.

The new dealer I used for my service last year spotted none of the 3 items had been done. Pretty obvious as you could see the first scum bags hadn't even bothered to move the earth lead.

Suzuki paid for the work to be done. I was extremely grateful and impressed by that service.

My dealer give me the A kit, it was a wee white plastic connector, a small rubber boot, black insulation  tape and a heat resistant sheath for the earth lead. I done the earth as I'd  had trouble with that too and put bicycle tubes over all the connectors in there.
The B kit was a whole new wiring loom. If you're going to keep the bike I'd take Suzuki up on their offer.
