How is the new DL1050?
« on: May 12, 2020, 07:55:30 »
I am actually happy about my 650. It is my first bike, and I used it for getting my licence. I tried a number of bikes, and being 6.6", the bike is OK in physical size, and I felt like it was very easy to handle while also willing to move.

Now the 1050 has come out. It looks even bigger in size, as the performance seems appealing.

Has anyone tried it? Is it worth skipping my (new) DL650 for a DL1050?

Regards, Lars.

As for the size, I would say no. You will not find it bigger. As for the weight, you will find it heavier, especially at slow speed manouvers. But, it doesn't mean it's difficult to handle. When I moved from 650 to 1000 V-Strom back at 2014 I felt some extra effort needed on slow speed manouvering but it was not a big deal.
Now, if you like the power, yes, you'll notice big difference.
