A quick hello
« on: December 21, 2019, 18:17:04 »
Hello

I was going to be a comedian and just leave that word there on it's own but I decided against it. I have a 2007 DL1000 which to be fair is in pretty good condition, agricultural compared to my BMW but makes a good winter ride.

I originally joined to see what variety of things people had done to their flaky water pump paint, seeing as I'm probably going to do mine enamel gloss black. Had a search and I see a few have also required respray

The rest of my casings are not bad to be fair but I don't think the previous owner did winter.. which I do. Did Suzuki paint the water pump with paint made froma rare strain of cheese? My K1200RS engine paint has only a couple of light marks and it's done 70k miles in all weather.

Anyhoo, I shall continue browsing and reading, it's good to see what others have done and get ideas to develop and play with.

Cheers
Max

Hi there. Looks like you will be a regular visitor to the top technical posts section. The water pump cover has been covered and I have done mine.

Hello Max and  :welcome:   And quite a nice line in insults and invidious comparisons to BMW's, too   lol :icon_wink:

Only joking - we all know the imperfections!
