What to get next?
« on: September 03, 2019, 10:53:40 »
Picking up my new 1000 on Thursday afternoon and am making a list of the goodies to treat it with. So far I have got the Scottoiler eSystem on order but am now wondering what next? Currently thinking rear hugger as winter is fast approaching. Not sure which brand to go for. Had Powerbronze on my old Z750s and I think a Pyramid one on the old DL1000, not sure what is the best fit on the newer model 1000.

After that it is probably going to be Givi luggage system with a top box with panniers to follow (Santa may help towards them). After that, possibly a screen

Hello VstromJay

Good luck with picking your bike up on Thursday. I’m picking mine up on Saturday, and I can’t wait  :thumb:

I spoke with a few people and they speak very highly of the Givi hugger. I’ve pulled the trigger on one and am expecting it to be delivered any day. As I hope to get a Givi Air Flow screen as well, I though it would be nice to have other accessories by then. Cos I’m a bit anal like that

All the best  :thumb:

Went with the Puig hugger for mine plus getting the Givi sat nag bar thing. Next possibly a radiator guard as I have suffered from a holed radiator in the past.

I have the powerbronze hugger, it's a bit short at the front near the shock, all the crap of the day went in till a glued a mudflap to it, chain guard a bit short to, I'd  buy something else if I was doing it again. Enjoy your new bikes.

I picked up an ex demo 1000 in May with 250 miles on the clock
Additions so far:
Givi airflow screen
Suzuki crash bars
Suzuki mirror extenders
Givi rad cover
Givi rear hugger
Givi M7 top plate & rack kit
Givi 47 litre top box
Ultimate add ons phone case / bracket (not that impressed with it)
Some of those protectors that go over the dash (screen angels I think)
Junked the death wings - fitted Michelin P5’s
Looking to fit some auxiliary lights now Autumn has landed
Want the new Denali D7’s but the price is a bit bonkers
Want SW Motech gear lever with extension
Want an airhawk because the seat kills me
That should do it for now
Enjoy your new bike they’re great machines

If you ignore your teeth, eventually they’ll go away

I'm really not one for changing silencers for more noise or to be trendy but the suitcase styled monstrosity on the V-Strom had to go. It was just too repulsive. I fitted a Delkevic 450mm carbon fibre can. Inexpensive, easy to fit, no louder than standard and doesn't hurt my eyes. Standard Suzuki panniers work with it too.

A useful addition is an onboard volt meter. It helps to monitor the battery / charging system, plus any load drawn from turning on an accessory.

‘Nicky’ now has the Givi sat nag mount, a Puig rear hugger and the overpriced Scottoiler eSystem. Once the accident compensation comes through, I will get the luggage sorted.
