Knocking noise from engine
« on: July 15, 2019, 15:53:33 »
I have a 2015 DL1000 with 12500 on the clock it has the oil and filter changed every 3000 miles. last weekend on the return trip from a weekend away on the bike it developed a bad knocking sound at low RPM under load (or at least that is the only time I can hear it) has anybody had this before or any ideas.

Thanks

Jason

I think they all do it eventually, mine seems to do it more when I put cheap supermarket petrol in. It could even be the dreaded clutch rattle. Does it do it when the clutch is dis-engaged?

Sounds like clutch "chudder". Has been a feature (fault!) of Vees since their introduction. Suzuki have claimed to have modified/re-designed the clutch basket over the years but to no effect. It's annoying but harmless. If it disappears when you pull the clutch in that confirms it. The is a mod available. There's plenty on the forum about it. Look up Sharealike and you can read about it.
