Top box and fitting kit for sale
« on: June 06, 2019, 16:38:26 »
Top box and base plate and fitting kit for 2015 DL1000. New price is truly mind boggling. It will need a lock( which my dealer says is 16 to 20 pounds ) but is in excellent condition. Asking £150 plus postage or meeting up half way if within 100 miles of Doncaster area. My tel no is 07513404367. Only reason for sale is change of bike. Now downsized to DL650.

GLWS,
how do you find the 650 in comparison to the 1000? been thinking of going the other way myself but not sure it's a good idea, I ride solo almost 100% of the time so that's not a factor, think I'd like a bit more power though.

I had a 650 and shifted up to 1000 and it's certainly far more powerful :) I guess it depends what sort of riding you do though both are perfectly capable of both types (eating motorway miles and twisty mountains) I personally found the 650 "effortless" in that it just goes, not too quick at accelerating but perfectly acceptable and never seemed terribly underpowered (I'm 300lbs+ and ride 2 up with the wife) but I do prefer the 1000 for the type of trips we do :)

Having gone down I am impressed by the 650. Does everything I want it to. Am now in my 70s and found the 1000 to be a bit top heavy pushing round the garage etc. Having said that as an all round package the 1000 is hard to beat, by ANYTHING.

The rack on your 1000 looks the same as on current 650. Will it fit a 650?
